Saratok to host next Sejiwa Senada programme

April 18, 2018, Wednesday

MIRI: Saratok will be the next host for the ongoing Sejiwa Senada programme after it was successfully held in Miri.

In Saratok, the programme will take place at Dataran Bandar Saratok from April 21 to 22, providing opportunity to the people from around Saratok, Debak, Sarikei, Betong, Sri Aman and other nearby areas a chance to get services, information and advice from government departments, including government-linked companies (GLCs), non-governmental organisations (NGOs) and the private sector.

A statement from the State Protocol and Public Relations Unit yesterday revealed that some 100 booths will be offering various government services, advisory, exhibitions, sales of local products, food and drinks, stage performances and lucky draws to visitors.

The Sejiwa Senada programme, the statement emphasised, is one of the initiatives by the state government to get closer to the rakyat by going down to the ground, thus it is aptly themed ‘Government with The People’.

The Saratok edition is expected to be officiated by Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg on the morning of April 21.

Visitors will also stand a chance to win a Perodua Axia car, two motorcycles and many electrical products.

The public should not miss this opportunity to gain insights into what the state government is doing for the rakyat, have fun, be entertained and perhaps a chance to walk home with a car or other attractive prizes.

The programme aims to create a one-stop avenue for the government to reach out to and serve the people while encouraging people to get involved in sports and recreational activities.

Visitors should try out the varieties of food offered at the Sarawak Kitchen and be entertained by popular singers like Jay Jay, Bob AF, Ricky Andrewson and many others.

That apart, the programme also hopes to foster closer ties and cooperation among the people so as to ensure lasting peace and harmony as well as sustainable progress of the state.
